When it comes to the Wisconsin fat bike race scene, Joey Cleaves has become quite "The Regular"
in representing Diablo Cycling, and our sponsors.
Joey and Ethan Janssen made the long drive to the professionally groomed course of the American Birkebeiner Ski Trail. This trail is only open one day a year to fat bikes, and they seized the oppurtunity. Undeterred by a broken chain, Joey still finished with a strong result in the 47k race.
Ethan Janssen finished 25th overall in the 21k race. That is impressive.
See results below:
The Big Fat - 47k (454 total)
The Chico - 21k (299 total)
Save the date for next year: March 6 & 7, 2020.
I'll be there.

MASSIVE SNOW! With too much fluffy, cold snow to maintain a solid trail base, the race title was changed to "WRECK THE TRAIL PRE-BIRKIE MADNESS - powered by Hinterland!"
The goal was to ride as much as you wanted, for awhile, then (try) and finish one timed lap.
Diablo Brian Davis joined Matt Fischer and the Recyclists Bicycle Co. crew to partake in the party.
Despite a fall or two, Brian came in 2nd place!
