The Bear bicycle race is one of the few grave-lee multi surface races amongst the grid of Wisconsin's paved roads. It has evolved from a bunch of people gathering to finish a long and difficult ride up north, to an all out race! Heck, even Jabitz won/placed it in the the late 20-teens! Race Details: wemseries.com/9-hours-of-alpine-valley/ Three Diablos kicked off their 2026 mountain bike race seasons with a 5-6 hour race effort! We never claimed to be smart. Jamie Zarda permitted the 1st place rider to lead for one lap (how nice), then dispatched her and and the others, finishing at least a lap up on all of them. After his first lap, Jeff Abitz moved up from 5th place to finish 3rd overall. The last lap was INTENSE, as he held off a hard charging competitor, finishing less then two minutes ahead of 4th place. Adam Koenig finished in the middle of the results. This father of four is "easing in" to the stress of the long races. Wise. Diablo Cycling's Brian Hansen took on the Driftless 100 in the hills of Iowa once again this this year. Great weather and a beautiful yet brutal gravel course with 10000 feet of relentless climbing. This is a great early season race in a very unique geological area. The few riders finishing in under 7 hours won a branding iron in the shape of the state of Iowa. No branding iron for Brian this year, but solid training training nevertheless.
