If anyone had the motivation to take on the monumental task of starting up a 24 hour mountain bike race, it would be George Kapitz of Broken Spoke Bikes. George always supports the Diablo cyclocross race so of course a we had to support him. Held on the new, and improved (they built berms!) trails of the Brown Co. Reforestation Camp, the 12.1 mile course included about 8.3 miles of singletrack and 3.8 miles of fast two track and XC ski trail. Plenty of speed, and just enough rough, for an all day/night ride. This is definite "can't miss" race, or party? for next year! Tim Patterson used the 24 hour race as preparation for his upcoming Crusher events in Upper Michigan. Seeing how a 50+ category never materialized, Jeff Abitz reasoned, to "be more competitive?" opted to pull his fat bike out of offseason hibernation and muscle that thing around for almost six hours. He (me, it's ME Jeff writing this) already had the 6 Hour Fatbike win all but guaranteed, so he opted to to slow ride the final lap to avoid going out for lap 7. Even by skipping a lap, he still got third overall. Next year the mountain bike shall be raced! 24 Hour Solo (18 total) Tim Patterson - 6th (157 miles) 6 Hour Solo Fatbike (5 total) Jeff Abitz - 1st (72 miles), 3rd of 29 overall Full Results: my.raceresult.com/345577/ - Jabitz

Event Details: teamwisconsincycling.com/events/crit Diablo Cycling consists of several riders, racing in several disciplines. Be it gravel, fat, mountain, cyclocross, or road/criterium, our team has riders that have excelled in all of them. Andy Webb and Brian Davis, continue to express their "tarmac talents" in the WI State Crit Championships. Brian Davis, noting two teams marking each other, risked an early attack, but couldn't quite make it stick. He was eventually joined by two other riders, then opting to return to the chasing group. Andy Webb heroically pulled back a few breakaways, bringing the race down to a sprint finish without about 4 laps to go. Andy used his 40 mph sprint! (see below) to earn a 2nd place! He was just beat on the line. Brian, perhaps selecting the less than optimal sprint gear, still earned a 5th. Diablo Cycling's Results: Men Masters 35+ Cat 1/2/3 (10 total) Andrew Web - 2nd Brian Davis - 5th Men Elite Cat 1/2/3 (24 total) Brian Davis - 16th Full Results: legacy.usacycling.org/results/?permit=2025-14083 - Jabitz
