I knew Andy Webb would be there, and I figured Andrew Knickerbocker would be there. For the six consecutive year, Jeff Abitz brought his fat bike again..."apparently I can't resist the attention". After 88 miles around the Winnebago Ocean? Lake! they all made to podium! Andy and Andrew raced hard to the end. Jeff enjoyed a solo tempo cruise, due to no fat bike competition. Diablo Cycling results: Overall (469 total) Male 30-34 Wave 1 (34 total) Andrew Knickerbocker - 2nd, 15th overall Male 40-44 Wave 1 (43 total) Andrew Webb - 1st,14th overall Fat Bike (1 total) Jeff Abitz - 1st (showing up was good enough!), 294th overall Full Results: my.raceresult.com/356124/ - Jewels Dash

For all the race details, see: www.oretoshore.com/ Long time Ore to Shore veteran Brian Hansen and second attempter Jeff Abitz, returned to the wicked (not a UP word) fast mountain bike race up in the MI UP Mining Country. Brian again made the top 3 age group podium, with a strong 2nd! Jeff slipped to 9th, from last year, despite only riding 1:24 slower, in muddier conditions. He had identical average heart rates (161 average, 175 maximum) as last year. People were just faster. Jeff and Brian will return to these areas, in the upcoming Marji Gesick 906adventureteam.com/mountain-bike-events/marji-gesick/ race September 21st. I say "areas" because where the O2S tends to take the easy route, the Marji ALWAYS takes the hardest route! Here is how the Diablos did: Hard Rock (48 miles) 693 total 55 to 59 Male (56 total) Brian Hansen - 2nd, 69th overall Jeff Abitz - 9th , 116th overall Full Results: my.raceresult.com/354043/ - Jabitz
