For the past several years, at least six? Diablo Cycling has hosted a cyclocross race for the WI CX Series. Inspired to promote bike racing, preserve the sport of cyclocross, and give back to our team sponsors, the majority of the team contributes in some way. For 2025 we needed to switch up the course a bit this year. Parking lot renovations meant "The Berminator" was not accessible. Instead we added the "Hidden Hill Behind the Wall" (corny name). The laps were very fast, maybe too fast? with the fastest people dipping into the high 4 minutes. One racer commented "it's like racing on a putting green". Diablo Cycling Team Results: Masters 50+ 1/2/3 (11 total) These guys spent much of Friday thru Sunday working the course. Brian Hansen - 4th (18.9 miles of walking on Sunday!) Diablo Cycling's Brian Hansen and Jeff Abitz, now recovered from the Marji Gesick 109 mile mountain bike race, pushed their heart rates "to the redline" at their first cyclocross race of 2025. They were treated to the new, 10 minute longer, 55 minute format. John Lichtenberg took on the challenge of racing "young" forty somethings.
