As the only Diablo triathlete, Scot Rasich returned to Traverse City, to once again represent Diablo Cycling as the team’s only triathlete. The commitment to train in the three disciplines of swimming, running, and cycling makes Scot a unique and appreciated asset to Diablo Cycling and our sponsors. In Scot’s words: “I would recommend for all to do TC...it was great. I haven't done as many races this year and with IMmooo (Ironman WI) two weeks away, I wanted to treat this as a long training day, with the only expectation to finish in sub 6 hours. This was the most relaxed I have ever been before a race. Weather was 50 to mid 70’s…perfect. Water was 69 degrees with little waves. Wind was less than 8 mph. 1.2 Mile SWIM: 36 Min - avg. 1:53/100 yards 56 Mile BIKE: 02:47:13 - avg. 20.09 mph 2,500 feet of climb over 56 miles with alot of slow uphills and fast downhills. It was just like I planned as a training day for the upcoming IMMoo course. The pro women winner averaged 22 mph. 13 Mile RUN: 02:04:10 - avg. 9:28 minute miles. I tripped on a wooden plank and fell into a guard railing, landing on my left, upper ribs. That knocked the wind out of me. The great thing about Triathletes is a couple stopped to see how I was. I said “good enough” and started to run. Overall: 5:36 got me an 18th in age out of 132 (Top 13%). 390th out of 2,300 overall. Not too bad for a training day. On Sunday, September 8th, Scot wil compete in yet another Ironman Wisconsin. www.ironman.com/triathlon/events/americas/ironman/wisconsin.aspx#/axzz5yNdasWiB - Jabitz
