July 8, 2018A terrific course and picturesque day for racing was not enough for Diablo riders — they were hungry for results at the 2018 Wisconsin State Championship Road Race. Pete's Garage did a stellar job of scouting out the route and the Gryphon Velo racing team added to the excitement by providing chalk for spectators at the peak of Scray's Hill. A little extra encouragement never hurt anyone as they crest a climb with a 14% grade (not to mention an impending headwind). It wasn't easy, but multiple podium and top-10 finishes from Diablos across all categories made it seem like a coffee shop cruise. A nasty crash on the last lap atop the ledge also resulted in six DNFs. Thankfully, all Diablos — and more importantly, their bikes — left in one piece. Cat 3/4
A third of the field (5 riders) could not finish the race. All three Diablos were making the teamwork count! Masters 50+

The most exciting race of the day! Jon narrowly edged out Mike Budd at the line for the win. Add sprinting to the list of things Jon Lester dominates at! #beast P/1/2
After a grueling crit the day prior and solid chunk of racing Tour of America's Dairyland, Brent added to his already impressive race season. He'll be resting up for the upcoming Intelligentsia Cup in Illinois ... or he'll make others hurt on the Thursday night Recyclist ride. Only time will tell, but if these races have been any indication, his results will be impressive once again.
