Gravel races within a two hour drive from the Fox Cities are rare. Several Diablo Cycling members chose this opportunity to test their nerves with this fast, loose, and often unpredictable form of racing. One minute you're smoothly drafting in a group, the next second you’re bouncing out of potholes and ruts. The addition of three miles of single track and several muddy water crossings meant your road bike should be left at home. The 2024 distances were 31, 58, 77 and 111 miles. Matthew Eckstein made the top 15 in his 1st Bear 111. His kids Gavin and Andrew made their Diablo debuts, showcasing impressive results, especially at their young ages. Andrew Knickerbocker again made the top 10. After missing last year Adam Koenig made his triumphant return. Jeff Abitz choose to experiment by riding his fat bike. Spoiler: It was slower than a gravel bike.
