No omnium? No problem! People came to Menasha en masse to race in a classic six-corner criterium on a day that featured beautiful weather. A big thank you to racers and volunteers alike for coming out with great enthusiasm, and an even bigger thank you to Mother Nature and all the moms out there for making the most out of a day that should be reserved to motherly activites. If you're a mom and bikes are your hobby, then it was the best of both worlds! Diablo racers had good results to boot — here's how they did in each category: Junior Girls 9-14

For those who are wondering, Adam is recovering well and in good spirits after his unfortunate crash across the finish line. And, while you probably weren't wondering, it's worth noting that Shawn edged out Logan in a friendly sprint by a whopping 1/8th of an inch! That's a single pixel on the monitor that captures 5000 frames per second at the finish line. Masters 50+

Shawn walked away from the 2018 NEWO races with another story to tell, as his finish after recovering from a crash was nothing short of remarkable. If only there were video of his aerial maneuvers! Cat 3/4
Andrew showed extraordinary effort while leading the group and trying to widen his gap after corner five, but the tank was empty coming down the home stretch and the other riders were able to catch him. Props to both he and Garrett who went toe-to-toe with the Cat 3 riders. Masters 35+ Cat 2/3
If it weren't for a blown sidewall on his rear tire, Jon way very well have broken away early on, never to be seen again by the group of other riders. His finish is a testament to great teamwork, as Brad Cullen and Jason Gibson took the wheel off of his wife's bike and pushed Jon back out to the last group right as his free lap was about to pass him by. In addition to all the racers and volunteers, a special thank you is once again in order to Sally Lester for taking pictures, as well as more great action shots captured by Amber Searer Photography. The race course featured a scenic riverside front straight and a unique neighborhood experience.
