The Red Granite Grinder offered riders a chance to explore the gravel roads, snowmoble trails, and rolling hills of Central Wisconsin. There was 50, 85, and 140 mile mile options. Jeff Abitz chose the 140 as per the website www.ironbull.org/red-granite-grinder-details was deemed to be "designed to find out who is the toughest of the tough". The racers (with masks) left the start in snowy "white-out conditions) and a few miles later, rode the 800 foot climb up Rib Mountain followed by a wild ride back down the snow soaked hiking trail. Near the back of group, Jeff settled in to his sustainable tempo pace, picking off riders all day whilst riding the wet and hilly roads (6,800' climbing). 1st place division win (5th overall) goal was achieved, resulting in a free entry for next year.
