There are not a lot of gravel races in Wisconsin. Milk trucks needs pavement. Fortunately Bret Schmaling and Broken Spoke Bike Studio bring, what I would consider, one of the premier bicycle races in Wisconsin...regardless of discipline.  Gravel racers, gravel curious, and gravel addicts flocked to the the varied unpaved paths and roads of the Nicolet National Forest.
Although most who rode were, just riding, this thing is becoming competitive. 
Those who partook could choose 31,  71 or 102 mile distances.

Bear 100 rookie Adam Koenig had a hel...heck of a race finishing well inside the top third.
Now that he knows the lay of the land look out next year!

Past winner Dan Naef did it again! 
His race stayed together until around mile 80 when when he and two others got away.
Fury unleashed, Dan won the sprint for the win!

Dan Naef - 1st place overall (Division? Who cares? He won the OVERALL! He was over 40 by the way)
Adam Koenig - 30th overall, 8/31 in Male 30-30
